Temporary Changes due to Omicron Covid-19 Variant

Monday, 13 December 2021

It is extremely important that we do everything possible to protect our patients and our staff from rising infection rates due to the new Omicron variant. The GP’s have reviewed Government and NHS news and advice and implemented the following changes from Wednesday 15/12/2021 as temporary measures:

  • All appointments will be booked as telephone consultations by default. If the GP’s need to see a patient face to face, this will be arranged by the GP after speaking to the patient.
  • All existing face to face appointments will be transferred to telephone consultations. If your appointment was booked in the morning, you will receive a telephone call in the morning. If your appointment was an afternoon appointment, you will receive a telephone call that afternoon.
  • We have been told by the government to prioritise the Covid-19 vaccination programme above other routine work. This may mean we need to make further changes as the situation develops and we are grateful for your understanding.
